UAE: The first 100% electric rubbish truck in the Middle East was introduced in Abu Dhabi

The first totally electric heavy truck to be introduced in the Middle East was by Abu Dhabi rubbish Management (Tadweer), which also unveiled the first 100% electric rubbish truck in the UAE.

Tadweer, the lone waste management steward for Abu Dhabi, will collect residential garbage in the emirate using the first Renault 100% electric vehicle.

Following the signing of a contract between Tadweer and Al Masaood during the recent EcoWaste Exhibition and Conference, the vehicle was produced by Renault Trucks, under the dealership of Al Masaood.

In addition to addressing logistical issues like the lack of charging stations along important routes, the Renault Trucks E-tech truck, the first heavy truck operating in the area, will run a pilot program to evaluate the vehicle's performance in the high temperatures of the capital's summer heat.

The Renault Trucks E-Tech D Wide P6x2 will be working in Abu Dhabi to collect domestic rubbish, nearly silently and with no tailpipe emissions thanks to its 23 cubic meter Gorica-Farid electric garbage compactor.

The introduction of the Renault E-Tech waste management truck is also a commitment to the electrified mobility objectives of the UAE and Abu Dhabi, which put the nation and its capital at the forefront of the world. The federal government just recently committed to building more than 800 EV charging stations around the nation.

By adopting approximately 100 of the trucks each to fulfill their obligations to sustainability and their communities, metropolitan centers like Paris and Barcelona have already shown the usefulness and performance of the Renault Trucks D-Wide E-tech in Europe.
