  Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Australia 's newly appointed Prime Minister Anthony Albanese today to discuss ways to boost momentum across key areas of their strong bilateral strategic ties.   Australia said that the QUAD (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue) member countries have accepted India's position on the Russia -Ukraine crisis. Australian High Commissioner to India, Barry O'Farrell, said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been using his contacts to call for an end to the Russia- Ukraine conflict. The remarks came ahead of Modi's virtual summit with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison. India called for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis.
