QUAD countries accepted India's position on the Ukraine-Russia war, says Australia
Australia said that the QUAD (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue) member countries have accepted India's position on the Russia -Ukraine crisis. Australian High Commissioner to India, Barry O'Farrell, said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been using his contacts to call for an end to the Russia- Ukraine conflict. The remarks came ahead of Modi's virtual summit with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison. India called for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis. PM Modi has repeatedly sought a cessation of violence in talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin to help people in conflicted areas of Ukraine. However, India 's stance on the conflict and its recent decision to purchase discounted crude oil from Russia has led to increasing tension in the Western countries.
