UAE's One Billion Meals Endowment campaign reaches Dh750 million in 20 days
The One Billion Meals Endowment campaign of the United ArabEmirates (UAE) has raised Dh750 million in just 20 days of the launch, according to reports. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice president, prime minister, and minister of defence of the UAE, launched the campaign during the holy month of Ramadan in order to raise funds to support a long-term approach to helping people in need all over the world. The aim of the food drive is to provide vital aid to people in need. Around 120,000 donations were received from people, institutions and businesses. A total of Dh750 million will help to deliver food aid to hungry people and provide financial aid to needy people through endowment funds. Some money will be placed into endowment funds for allowing vital aid to be delivered for years to needy people. The endowment funds will allow the principal sum to grow steadily.
