The UAE and Arctic Circle organise open dialogue on climate change within Third Pole-Himalayan Region
The United Arab Emirates ( UAE ) and the Arctic Circle organised an open dialogue on the “Third Pole Process” at the sidelines of the 27th session of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27), which is currently being held in Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. The open dialogue was held in collaboration between the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) of the UAE and the Arctic Circle. Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, the Minister of Climate Change and the Environment; Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, former President of Iceland and Chairman of Arctic Circle; and Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson, Iceland’s Minister for the Environment, Energy and Climate and former Chairman of the Arctic Council also attended the open dialogue. The representatives from Arctic countries and the Third Pole–Himalayan Region were also present to talk about climate change.
