UAE Prime Minister sets out UAE's tourism goals on visit to Arabian Travel Market
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice president, prime minister, and minister of defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as well as the Ruler of Dubai, has lauded the UAE’s tourism sector. On a visit to the 30th annual Arabian Travel Market on Monday, he lauded the post-pandemic revival of the tourism sector of the UAE. He also highlighted the tourism goals of the UAE. He said that the UAE would attract 40 million hotel guests by 2031. He further set out the UAE's plans to establish the “best and most active economy in the world.” He noted that the UAE had witnessed a 70 per cent increase in tourism spending in 2022. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid wrote on Twitter, “Global tourism has rebounded after three years of decline. We have set a target of reaching 40 million tourists within seven years, and increasing the tourism sector's contribution to our GDP to Dh450 billion.” Reportedly, the UAE aims to attract Dh100 billion in tourism investment by 2031. ...
