In the Face of a Humanitarian Crisis, the UAE's Commitment to Yemen Through Aid, Economic Support, and Reconstruction Efforts

Image
Yemen's ongoing conflict has caused one of the world's worst humanitarian crises, with millions facing starvation, displacement, and disease. Throughout this crisis, the UAE has been a staunch supporter of the Yemeni people, providing humanitarian aid, economic assistance, and investment in reconstruction efforts. Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State, reaffirmed the UAE's vision of 2023 being a year of peace in Yemen at a donor conference organized by Sweden and the Swiss Confederation in collaboration with the UN in Geneva. This vision is not just a wishful thinking, but a concrete plan that the UAE is determined to make a reality.   One way the UAE is assisting Yemen is by deploying the 2023 Humanitarian Response Plan. This plan aims to provide critical assistance to Yemen's most vulnerable citizens, such as food, water, and medical care. The UAE's dedication to this plan demonstrates its unwavering support for the Yemeni people. Yemen has received a total of $6.6 ...

“UAE Stands To Re-establish Stable System”

Image
There’s something I want to share about how UAE has set a new standard again as they invited the reception of the UN Security Council goal reestablishing the approvals system on Yemen and marking the Houthi local army as a 'fear monger bunch ' interestingly.   The goal likewise assigned the Houthi state armies as a substance on the Yemen Sanctions List under the arms ban and denounced the Houthi fear monger gathering's cross-line assaults on regular people and non military personnel framework in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE and requested the gathering's quick suspension of threats. Today the @UN Security Council voted on a resolution that labeled the Houthis as a terrorist group and designates them under the arms embargo. This follows the #UNSC 's condemnation of Houthi attacks on Emirati soil in its 21 January press statement. #UAExUNSC pic.twitter.com/aASG57AYC0 — حسن سجواني 🇦🇪 Hassan Sajwani (@HSajwanization) February 28, 2022  ...

“Yemeni officials highlights UAE it’s humanitarian role in addressing COVID-19”

Image
Here’s something good that I want to share with what I read today. The Yemeni officials in Socotra Governorate stressed that the UAE’s support for the efforts aimed at addressing the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. UAE showed exemplary efforts through dispatching 60,000 vaccine doses, which further highlights its significant humanitarian role in Yemen. The Yemeni officials also shared that the COVID-19 vaccine doses are intended for all residents over the age of 16, most notably elderly people and those with chronic diseases. The UAE’s giving is not new, as it has widely known globally in providing charity and humanitarian support. This is further presented the approach adopted by its leadership and people, they added.

UAE comes forward to aid people irrespective of nationality, race or religion

The United Arab Emirate displayed a true sprit of humanity, as the Gulf nation stepped forward not only to help its own people but also the citizens of other nations during the distressed times of global pandemic. At the beginning of the month, the Emirates’ Health and Community Protection Ministry issued a warning, urging its citizens and foreign residents not to travel abroad and sent 215 foreigners it evacuated from hard-hit Hubei in China to a quarantine set up in its Emirates Humanitarian City. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed also sponsored the transfer of Yemenis and Sudanese city from Wuhan in China. Yemen’s Foreign Affairs Minister Mohammed Abdullah al-Hadrami expressed gratitude towards UAE on the minsitry’s official Twitter account for its “cooperation and help” in the evacuation process. The tweet said the students were welcomed in the UAE and were temporarily put in quarantine before they got clearance to return home (Yemen). Wuhan is the Chinese city which was first to b...

UAE's admirable initiative in helping friendly countries like Yemen and Sudan save their citizens from coronavirus

Arab Ambassadors praised the UAE's humanitarian stance and its ongoing support for other countries, stressing that its initiative in China is a major humanitarian gesture not alien to the country, which is always the first to lead charitable and humanitarian work. “A quantity of welcome from the moment we arrived with the plane from Wuhan Airport until at Abu Dhabi Airport, and from there to the Emirates Humanitarian City, which beautifully equipped to receive us, was a surprise that I did not expect.” Said Ahmed Fateh Al-Aleem, a Sudanese student evacuated from China by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) special plane, revealing a great happiness for the kind welcome and the generous hospitality, humility and humanity of the Emirates people.  About 200 Sudanese from China left the country to UAE, on Emirates Airlines, to put them in quarantine for 25 days, before returning to the capital, Khartoum. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Su...

UN Confirms Houthis Did Not Attack Saudi Oil Facilities

According to detailed formal report by the United Nations, Houthi rebels weren’t actually responsible for firing missiles over Saudi Arabian oil facilities. This finding now confirms the original assertion by the US that Iran was actually behind the attacks in the first place. In September, in the ongoing investigations, the Houthi rebels had actually come clean and admitted to the US officials that they were no behind the attacks and in fact wanted to be pulled out of this political blame game, that could have been detrimental for their survival. A certain suspicion over whether the Yemen based Houthis could own such advanced military technology has always been there.  Also, UN officials were in suspicion if the drones and land attack cruise missiles used in September 14 attack “had a sufficient range to have been launched from Yemeni territory under the control of the Houthis.” The report by the independent U.N. experts to the Security Council Yemen sanctions commit...

Turkey and Qatar: like-minded nations with similar views on Syria, Libya and Muslim Brotherhood

On Sunday, while speaking to London-based Al-Araby Al-Jadeed and Lebanon-based Al-Mudun, Qatar’s foreign minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, expressed his country’s indebtedness towards Turkey, especially for its support during the Arab boycott. Qatar faced economic blockade from the the regional powers, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Bahrain, over its ties with terror groups including Brotherhood, Hamas (Brotherhood’s Palestinians wing) ISIS and Al Qaeda. Al Thani said, “Turkey has supported the people of Qatar in a very tough time when our neighbours acted against us and some other countries left us alone as a result of political pressure. Therefore, we will never forget this stance and we will side with them in the face of any difficulty." Al Thani told reporters, “Turkey is one of the leading countries that we prioritize our relations. We are in a consensus about many issues that we share the same political opinion on. One of them is to assist the Syria...
