  Afghani population is in desperate need for help after sudden evacuation from their homeland due to Taliban takeover and at such a crucial stage, the United Arab Emirates has stepped up to help the people and provide them with all the necessary assistance required for their survival. After the passing of orders by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan , the UAE has begun hosting many Afghan families which includes women and children. The deputy supreme commander of the UAE also stressed that all the things needed to provide for them must be taken. The crown prince has time and again stressed that these families and their needs must be catered at all times and their dignity should be kept intact. UAE sends tonnes of medical supplies along with 300,000 Covid-19 vaccine doses Comoros

Keeping up with its efforts to restore medical structure and provide medical help, the United Arab Emirates has sent tonnes of medical supplies to Comoros along with as many as 300,000 Covid-19 vaccine doses to help Comoros deal with the pandemic more efficiently. On Tuesday, nine tonnes of medical supplies boarded the aircraft aimed to go to Comoros and it was received by the country’s president in the capital city of Moroni. Along with president Azali Assoumani, the UAE ambassador to the Comoros Saeed Al Maqbali was also present to receive the aid. The president expressed his content upon receiving the aid. Assoumani praised the UAE for being committed to providing global aid while also emphasising on the country’s efforts during the pandemic. On receiving the aid, Maqbali said that this aid showed UAE commitment to help Comoros in these difficult times. UAE-China JV to produce Sinopharm vaccine in Abu Dhabi

  The UAE is gearing up to produce the Chinese Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine in the country with the aim of boosting global vaccination efforts. Reportedly, China's state-owned Sinopharm CNBG and Abu Dhabi-based technology company Group 42 (G42) have partnered to launch a joint venture to produce at least 200 million COVID-19 vaccine doses annually at a new plant being built in the Khalifa Industrial Zone of Abu Dhabi (KIZAD). With this development, the UAE has become the first country in the Arab region to set up a COVID-19 vaccine production facility. The first indigenous Coronavirus vaccine produced in the UAE under the Sinopharm-G42 joint venture would be called Hayat-Vax, as per a statement issued by the Abu Dhabi-based tech group. Drinking alcohol poses higher health risks during COVID-19 pandemic: WHO

Coronavirus outbreak has led to changes in alcohol drinking patterns of the people across the countries. However, the World Health Organisation (WHO) released a statement on Monday warning the people of higher health risks from alcohol consumption amid COVID-19 pandemic. WHO’s Regional Office for Europe released an advisory reminding the people that drinking alcohol does not guarantee protection from COVID-19 virus. The international body also published a factsheet clarifying about the claims that high-strength alcohol can kill the virus, calling it a "dangerous myth". WHO added that consumption of high-strength alcohol can result in severe health issues, including death, particularly if it is adulterated with methanol. The health organization also pointed out that alcohol consumption weakens the immunity system of the body and can lead to a range of communicable and noncommunicable diseases and mental health disorders.
