The UAE's Sustainable Drive: Leading the Way in Renewable Energy Initiatives Ahead of COP28

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has long been committed to promoting sustainable development and protecting the environment. With the country set to host the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in November 2023, the UAE has been ramping up its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and promote renewable energy. One of the most notable initiatives in this regard is the Dubai Solar Park mega project, which currently accounts for 15% of the emirate's energy production capacity. The project, which is set to be completed in phases, will ultimately generate 5,000 megawatts of clean energy and reduce carbon emissions by 6.5 million tons annually. The park also includes a solar-powered desalination plant, which will provide clean water to the local community. Another initiative is the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the largest single-site solar project in the world. The park, which is located in Dubai, has a planned capacity of 5,000 megawatts by 2030 and will pro...

People of Egypt replants mangroves to fight effects of climate change

Image
After decades of destruction during which the mangroves were cleared, all that remained were fragmented patches totalling about 500 hectares, the size of only a few hundred football pitches. Sayed Khalifa, the head of Egypt's agriculture syndicate who is leading efforts to replant the mangroves, calls the unique plants a treasure because of their ability to grow in salt water where they face no problems of drought. "It's an entire ecosystem," Mr Khalifa said, knee-deep in the water. "When you plant mangroves, marine life, crustaceans and birds all flock in." The government-backed programme, costing about $50,000 a year, was launched five years ago. Mangroves have a powerful impact in combating climate change.

“The Prohibition Will Lead To Reduction of Climate Tension”

Image
I want to share this indescribable status in UAE . It’s how the UAE is viewing reasonable retail in a serious way with Abu Dhabi 's prohibition on single-use plastics coming into force. It is the capable approach shopping with the climate under tension and our lives in danger from plastic contamination. Here's the reason. Single-use or any plastic doesn't actually separate. Abu Dhabi’s ban on single-use plastic bags has come into effect from today as part of the UAE’s vision to enhance sustainable living in the emirate. #Forbes 🔗 https://t.co/seqqcIv6WE pic.twitter.com/hNGiSSdmGs — Forbes Middle East (@Forbes_MENA_) June 1, 2022   Looking at it, They basically separate into microplastics and stay in the climate from where people and creatures breathe in or accidentally consume them. A few nations, including the UAE, are worried about the wild utilization of this material and have turned to boycotts, duties, and punishments. While the UAE government has ventu...

“A Helpful and Great Way To Beat Plastic Pollution”

Image
I want to share something interesting about what I read today. It’s how Abu Dhabi has uncovered huge designs for wiping out single-utilize plastic sacks in the fight to lessen huge scope contamination as the city intends to proclaim itself absolutely liberated from single-use plastics before the current year's over.   It was surprising that their extensive approach, the first-of-its-sort in the locale, was declared in 2020 and plans to eliminate dirtying plastics from the climate and dispense with the utilization of avoidable single-utilize plastic and non-plastic materials by cultivating a culture all through society of reusing and once again use, and empowering more reasonable practices locally.   New policy includes developing legislation to limit the use of all plastic materials https://t.co/NBM8EKvI0U — Khaleej Times (@khaleejtimes) January 19, 2022 For me, This is an unbelievably significant issue in light of the fact that the destructive impact...

When it comes to taking steps with the future in mind, the United Arab Emirates is second to none and this can very well be seen in the kinds of initiative the nation has taken towards ensuring minimisation and finding alternatives for activities that are contributing to climate change. It becomes even more important to acknowledge these little but futuristic changes the UAE has been making because tomorrow the world is celebrating World Humanitarian Day, where nationals will come together to acknowledge the efforts made to slow down the climate change process. Most of these campaigns are focused towards slowing down the climate change process and tomorrow, various members of the community will be present to discuss the immediate consequences of the climate emergency . The whole world will be affected by these changes but this is worse for certain sections of the society that are most vulnerable to getting affected by these sudden changes. To discuss their future and how the worl...
