UAE-Sudan: The bilateral ties between the two countries
The United Arab Emirates is one of Sudan’s most loyal allies in the region and is heavily invested in the stability and prosperity of the African nation. The two nations share a historic bond that has seen the two states sign multiple bilateral agreements, enhancing the collaboration between their leaders, citizens and institutions. The relationship between UAE and Sudan has continued to grow and strengthen rapidly over the past decade, with both states making strong commitments to one another in the form of economic and political exchanges. In October 2017, the UAE participated for the first time in the London Conference on Sudan and hosted the Sudan Innovation Challenge, which showcased the engineering and technological capabilities of Sudanese innovators.
