The UAE has made significant progress in constructing its national railway network, which is expected to have a significant impact on the global supply chain. The national railway network has been operational since January 2016, with its main line spanning from Ghuweifat on the Saudi Arabian border to Fujairah, and stage two of the project began in early 2020. Etihad Rail, the company behind the national railway network, worked on this project with 11 contractors, 25 consultants, and 28,000 specialists.
