New school ranking system announced by UAE education authorities
The UAE's education officials have implemented a new school grading system. Based on the effectiveness of their national identity programs, schools in Abu Dhabi will be evaluated and given a "Outstanding," "Good," "Acceptable," or "Weak" rating.
The first National Identity Mark for the
UAE has been introduced by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge
(ADEK). In order to give parents complete insight into the caliber of national
identity programs and associated activities in private schools throughout the
emirate, a new system of school ratings has been implemented.
The National Identity Mark will increase
educational transparency and provide parents more ability to choose the best
learning environments for their kids.
With a solid foundation rooted in their
own cultural heritage, Emirati students will be better equipped to traverse the
varied global environment thanks to the National Identity Mark, which strives
to deepen their awareness of UAE traditions, practices, and values.
The ADEK's yearly Irtiqaa Inspection,
which examines the performance standards of the Emirate's private schools and
offers suggestions for enhanced performance, will not be used to compare the
National Identity Mark rankings.
Schools will be rated as
"Outstanding", "Good", "Acceptable", or
"Weak" depending on the caliber of their national identity programs,
with ratings for Phase 1 scheduled to be released at the conclusion of the
current academic year.
With the new ratings system in place, all
private schools in Abu Dhabi that accept national students will have their
curriculum and school cultures evaluated in order to promote educational
fairness, openness, and accountability. Additionally, schools will have the
chance to grow and improve their national identity programs even more.
