How is the UAE helping Sudan amid the conflict?

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has sent a further three planes, carrying 116 tonnes of medical and food aid to Sudan in order to help people impacted by the conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces.

The UAE was one of the first countries to help the Sudanese people when the conflict between the two Sudanese rivals hit the country. The UAE also carried out the evacuation process in Sudan. The UAE evacuated 178 people from Sudan on Sunday.

A Sudanese child who was injured because of the conflict also arrived in the UAE. He was taken to Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, the Capital of the UAE.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation carried out the evacuation process, highlighting the UAE’s humanitarian efforts and commitment to helping countries in need.

Recently, two planes arrived at Port Sudan Airport, carrying medical supplies, in order to treat people injured by the ongoing clashes. The third plane arrived at Abeche Airport in Chad, carrying food supplies, in order to help Sudanese refugees.

So far, the UAE has delivered over 486 tonnes of medical and food supplies to Sudan. The UAE continues to prioritise the Sudanese people who are impacted by the ongoing clashes.

So far, the UAE has welcomed hundreds of citizens from over 20 countries. The UAE also helped them by providing them with medical aid.

The UAE also reiterated the importance of establishing political stability and security in Sudan. The UAE also called for a ceasefire and a return to dialogue.

The UAE also cooperated with the World Health Organization to deliver 30 tons of urgent medical supplies to Sudan. The shipment of medical aid was valued at US$ 444 000.

Dr Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, ensured the speedy delivery of medical aid to Sudan.
