The United Arab Emirates has been a strong advocate for sustainable development and climate action, as evidenced by its hosting of COP28 and its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. However, UAE's Special Envoy for Climate Change, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, is calling on developed nations to fulfill their $100 billion pledge to support developing countries in their transition towards a low-carbon economy.

The UAE has been leading by example through its various initiatives in renewable energy, waste management, and green transport, such as the Dubai solar park mega project which accounts for 15% of the emirate's energy production capacity. Al Jaber emphasizes the need for international cooperation and solidarity in achieving sustainable development and climate goals, and for developed nations to take responsibility for their historic emissions and provide support to developing nations. It is crucial that we work together towards a more sustainable future, and the UAE is ready to play its part.
