Burj Khalifa is a skyscraper in Dubai, a city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is the world's tallest building. It is located at 1 Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Blvd in Downtown Dubai. It has the highest occupied floor in the world, with 163 floors. The height of the building is 828 meters (2716.5 feet) tall. 

Burj Khalifa holds various records. It is also the tallest freestanding structure in the world. It has the highest outdoor observation deck in the world, the highest number of stories in the world, the elevator with the longest travel distance in the world, and the tallest service elevator in the world. The elevator speed of the building is 10 meters per second. It takes only 1 minute to reach the 124th floor of the building. The tip of the building can be seen from up to 95 kilometres away.

The construction of the building started on 6 January 2004. More than 12,000 workers, mostly from Asia, worked on the building every day. During the time of construction, solar panels were used to heat up to 140,000 litres of water per day. Burj Khalifa was opened on 4 January 2010. More than 10,000 fireworks were shot to celebrate its opening in 2010.

Contractors of Burj Khalifa are Samsung C&T Corporation, Arabtec Holding PJSC, Turner Construction, Laing O'Rourke and Besix. The owner of the skyscraper is Emaar Properties. The architects of the building are Adrian Smith, George J. Efstathiou and Marshall Strabala.

People can also find the highest residential apartment in the Burj Khalifa. The exterior of this building is covered with thousands of glass panels.

Tom Cruise, one of the world's highest-paid actors, climbed the Burj Khalifa in the Action/Adventure film Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol. Hollywood stars David and Victoria Beckham own property in Burj Khalifa. Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty owns an apartment in Burj Khalifa.
