UAE Evacuation Operation: A Beacon of Hope in Times of Crisis

In the face of the ongoing clashes and violence in Sudan, the UAE has once again demonstrated its commitment to humanitarianism and international cooperation. On May 8th, an evacuation plane carrying 178 nationals from seven countries arrived in the UAE from Sudan, including the most vulnerable groups of the sick, children, the elderly, and women.

Among the evacuees was a Sudanese child who was injured in the clashes and needed medical attention. The UAE immediately stepped in to provide the necessary care, transferring the child to Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) confirmed the success of the UAE evacuation operation, highlighting the country's continued humanitarian approach based on protecting civilians and extending a helping hand to countries in need.

Furthermore, the Ministry affirmed the UAE's commitment to working with its partners and the international community to achieve all that serves the interests of the Sudanese people. This includes efforts to achieve a ceasefire, a return to political framework and dialogue, and advancing the transitional phase to reach political stability and security in Sudan.

The UAE's consistent efforts to help people in Sudan and other crisis-stricken regions is a beacon of hope in today's world. By providing services and necessary care during evacuation and hosting evacuees from various countries, the UAE is leading by example in humanitarianism and international cooperation.
