UAE will require all healthcare practitioners to use remote services

UAE

A new legal framework is anticipated to be implemented by the end of this year and will require all healthcare providers in the UAE to provide patients at least one type of remote treatment.

On the second day of the Remote forum in Dubai on Thursday, Shaikha Hasan Al Mansory, head of the Strategy and Investment Section, Digital Health Department, Ministry of Health and Prevention, revealed this.

She told Gulf News on the sidelines of the meeting that the ministry will introduce a thorough "Smart Digital Health" regulatory framework by the end of the year, and all healthcare providers will be required to offer at least one of the four types of remote health services.

They must perform at least one of the following remotely: consultations, medicine prescriptions, patient monitoring, or robotic procedures.

She said that healthcare service providers in the public and commercial sectors will be affected by this.
