Radisson hotel plans to spread its wings across Mideast

Mideast

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will continue to be the regional emphasis of Radisson in the Middle East. Within the next 12 months, the business has ambitious intentions to sign at least five hotels and open more than 1,000 keys.

Following the opening of Radisson Resort Ras Al Khaimah on Marjan Island earlier this year as the first Radisson Resort in the MiddleEast, the Radisson Hotel Group is preparing to open the 389-key Radisson Beach Resort Palm Jumeirah in Dubai this year. The resort complex will open its doors at West Beach, Palm Jumeirah, one of Dubai's most popular tourist locations, as part of the group's effort to expand its resort portfolio.

The group's first hotel in Saudi Arabia with the Radisson name debuted there recently with the opening of the Radisson Hotel Riyadh Airport. The second hotel in the city for the opulent lifestyle brand, Mansard Riyadh, A Radisson Collection Hotel, opened its doors in June.

The group currently has more than 25 hotels and serviced apartments operating or being built in the Kingdom, including the impending debuts of the 200-room Radisson Blu Hotel, Riyadh Convention & Exhibition Center, and Park Inn by Radisson hotels in Makkah's Thakher City Development.

"2022 has been a fantastic year for signings and openings across the region, reiterating the aggressive growth and movement of the group, and we are on track for further developments in the months to come," said Elie Milky, Radisson's vice president of development for the Middle East, Pakistan,
Cyprus, and Greece.

"We will be announcing additional hotels, and we have plans to open 400 more keys before the end of the year, bringing the total number of keys signed and opened this year in the GCC and Levant sub-regions to approximately 1,500. Additionally, we are eager to take advantage of our development team's growth throughout the Middle East and to establish an office in Riyadh, reinforcing our strategic focus on the Kingdom.

The 178-room Radisson Blu Hotel, Amman Galleria Mall in Jordan, which
the company inked earlier this year, represents the group's debut into yet another significant Middle Eastern capital city. The hotel is expected to open in the summer of 2023 and building has already begun.

Additionally, the hospitality group has announced the signing of a Park Inn by Radisson Kuwait Hotel & Apartments, which offers both hotel rooms and serviced apartments, as its second brand in Kuwait. The newly constructed hotel will have 250 keys when it debuts towards the end of 2023. The Radisson Muscat Airport's recent agreement to purchase the 108-key Park Inn will strengthen its position in the Sultanate of Oman.

After two years with record-breaking signings, Elie Younes, executive vice president and global chief development officer, added: "The Middle East remains a significant emphasis for us this year and in the coming years.

With a strong and immediate pipeline that includes significant signings and opportunities across KSA and the UAE, as well as recent acquisitions in Jordan, Oman, and Kuwait, we are committed to realising its potential. As we look forward to continue our exciting and gratifying journey, we would like to thank our business partners for their confidence in our brands and staff.

More than 11,000 keys are now available at 52 locations operated by Radisson Hotel Group in the Middle East. The major hospitality company is now developing 25 hotels in the Middle East as leisure and business travel in the region continues to flourish.
