The
first beta of Google's Android 13 quarterly platform release has been released,
and developers have already found code that alluded to two new products.
According
to The Verge, these gadgets reportedly include the rumoured Pixel foldable and
a new "Pro" tablet. Developer Kuba Wojciechowski posted code
screencaps on Twitter that show a device called "Felix" in its
unfolded and folded modes.
The
use of the device's cameras was also addressed. On the rear of the phone, these
include a 10.8MP Samsung S5K3J1 telephoto lens and a 64-megapixel (MP) Sony
IMX787 primary sensor.
Additionally,
the gadget might have an 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor inside and an additional
Samsung S5K3J1 on the front. According to The Verge, the dual back camera
arrangement of the foldable supports allegations that it can fold horizontally
like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold.
While
animations spotted in Android 12L and an icon in Google's camera app suggest a
phone that folds like a book, it appeared last year that Google was also
developing a handset that folds clamshell-style.
Wojciechowski
discovered information about Google's future foldable device as well as
references to a "Pro" tablet known as the "t6pro" or
"tangorpro."
Developers
have discovered that the terms "t6" and "tangor" refer to
the gadget. Google announced that it is working on an Android-powered tablet at
I/O in May.
Now
that these codenames have the prefix "pro," it may be assumed that
Google is also developing a more expensive model of the tablet, according to
The Verge.
A
few months ago, Google Buds Pro were unveiled alongside the Pixel 6a
smartphone. The Pixel Buds Pro are Google's version of its true wireless
earbuds in the same way that Apple and Samsung each have their own Pro models
available. Google has large shoes to fill in comparison to those two companies,
especially after the Pixel Buds' underwhelming introduction last year.
