Abu Dhabi leads the way to sustainable growth with the largest solar themed park.

An initiative to build Abu Dhabi’s largest solar photovoltaic has been taken by a renewable energy company called Masdar and the Emirates leading curator of experiences, Miral,. This will be one of its kind projects that will be created at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi on Yas Island.

As per reports, the deal has been signed aiming at providing nearly 16,000 solar modules all over the theme park’s roof area of 36,000 square meter. This will fetch 40 percent of its annual demand, which is a staggering difference from before. From what has been understood of the agreement, Masdar will be supplying a full turnkey solution for a seven megawatt peak project which will include design, procurement and other aspects involving the set-up of the plant such as- construction, operation and maintenance of the plant.

The project will reportedly take a year to complete and estimated time is scheduled in the fourth quarter of next year. With this, Abu Dhabi is set to become the largest solar powered theme park in the whole of Gulf Cooperation Council.

In a report, the CEO of Masdar  Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, expressed his happiness in collaborating with Miral for this project. He said, “Masdar is pleased to be entering into this partnership with Miral to develop Abu Dhabi's largest rooftop solar project.” He also added while giving reference of the World Green Building Council (WGBC) that building-related emissions contribute almost 55 percent of global electricity demand and optimizing energy efficiency in the built environment is critical to achieving the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) clean energy goals.

Even the CEO of Miral Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi was all praises for the initiative and said that sustainability is their top criteria. “We are delighted to be partnering with Masdar on this landmark agreement. Sustainability is high on our agenda and with Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi recognized as the world's largest indoor theme park, it is the ideal location for a project of this scale.” He also said that through this collaboration we are showcasing our commitment to harnessing the most efficient system across Yas Island.

The United Arab Emirates is not only developing in various spheres of the living but also making efforts to make it a sustainable growth. With the help of companies like Miral, it is making initiatives to come up with more innovative ways to give the country a sustainable push to development.
