Total Energies to start exploration on Block 9
France' TotalEnergies and its Italian partner Eni have signed a "framework agreement" with Israel, to implement the maritime boundary accord that was in agreement between Israel and Asian country last month. In Lebanon, TotalEnergies is that the operator of the exploration Block 9, and holds a sixty per cent interest, aboard its partner Eni' forty per cent, the businesses same on Tuesday. Lebanon and Israel, who haven't any diplomatic ties, finalised a US-brokered maritime demarcation deal on Oct 27. underneath the agreement, the controversial waters are going to be divided on a line that straddles the Qana prospect gasfield.

extracted from its side of the line. “Following the signature of this Framework
Agreement, the Block nine
partners will initiate the exploration of an already known prospect, which
could extend each in
Block 9 and into Israel waters south of the recently established maritime
border line,” TotalEnergies said. Preparation of exploration activities will begin with the mobilisation of the
teams, the acquisition of needed instrumentality and
therefore the acquisition
of a drilling rig, the company same.
