UAE minister assures its promise towards a two-state solution between Israel, Palestine.

The United Arab Emirates solidified its stance on two state solutions in Palestine during a roundtable discussion hosted by the Emirates Society, where they also supposedly discussed ways of strengthening the ties between the United Kingdom and UAE. 

The Emirates Society is a UK based society which focuses on the ties between the two countries on various aspects ranging from economic, political and cultural affairs. The institution hosted a high-level discussion on the remarkable Abraham accords, which were signed on September 15 this year. 

Through this deal, the UAE and Israel normalised their ties with each other opening up a larger scope of possibilities for the two. This meeting explored further trade areas between the two and regional resolutions as a tie between Muslim and Jewish popoultations. 

Reem bint Ebrahim Al- Hashimy represented the UAE at the online event, minister of state for International cooperation. Other dignitaries present at the event were ban-Ki-moon, the former UN secretary general and the chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the commonwealth, Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis. 

The minister for International Cooperation spoke about the historic impact of accord deals and how it will change the dynamics in the region.

 “The UAE believes in the importance of dialogue and in shaping what this region could look like for many generations to come. We are committed to a two-state solution in a Middle East that will fight extremism and that believes in plurality, multiculturalism, the right of minorities, and the opportunities that exist for young people by embracing technology, innovation, and economic empowerment.”

Ban ki-moon also added to the points shared by Al-Hashimy and talked more about creating an atmosphere where there is religious tolerance. He further added that there are lessons that can be learned from the UAE-Israel peace deal that can ease down deeper issues in the region. 

He appreciated the Abraham accords saying that through this deal not only the political figures but also for the citizens who might find opportunities through this. 

Talking on the same lines as the fellow dignitaries, chief Rabbi also credited Abraham Accords for unlocking a range of ‘exciting opportunities for closer political, economic, and diplomatic collaboration between the UAE and the State of Israel.’

He expressed his hope in beginning a new era of Muslim-Jewish dialogue while also hoping that all the faith leaders to bre courageous and encouraged them in building a culture of peace in the region. 

This event was attended by more than 100 delegates from all around the world.
