Dubai crown prince attends the first-ever graduation ceremony of female cadets.
First group of female cadets have graduated from Dubai police academy and the crown prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed has paid tribute to them as he offers his congratulations to the team for taking up the mantle of ‘serving and protecting the nation.’
While congratulating all the 29 cadets, he said that the United Arab Emirates is ready to support the progress of Emirati women. The cadets have trained for four years in the DUbai Police Academy. Sheikh Hamdan further said that Emirati women successfully proved their merit on the local and global stage. This is a landmark for the country and the crown prince acknowledged this event by attending the graduation ceremony along with Lt Gen Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, commander-in-chief of Dubai Police and other senior officers.
On this occasion he said, “Sheikh Hamdan said the support of the country's leadership has helped Emirati women showcase their abilities on the regional and international stage.”"We are proud to witness the graduation of the first batch of female cadets who have taken on the task of serving and protecting the nation and ensuring the safety and security of its people.”
"Since the first woman was recruited by Dubai Police in 1967, women have excelled in various roles in the police force. They have demonstrated their distinction in administrative, field, military, and applied science capacities,” the prince said after congratulating the cadets on winning various sports championships as well.
He added that these cadets have utilised these opportunities made available by the Dubai Police Academy to the best of its potential as they become the first ever Arab nation to do so.
"Their success is an immense source of pride for us and vindicates the UAE’s efforts to enhance women’s empowerment and ensure a high ranking for the country in global gender balance indexes,"
