Largest Ozone hole over Arctic region healed
On March 2020, the scientists spotted the formation of an unusual hole in the ozone layer over the Arctic region. The hole spotted over the Arctic region was the largest hole identified till date. But, the European Union's Copernicus, an Earth observation programme declared that the largest hole on the ozone layer detected on March 2020, over the Arctic region (i.e) over the North pole is closed. Copernicus of European Union made the announcement via Twitter post of April 23. They wrote, "The unprecedented 2020 northern hemisphere #OzoneHole has come to an end. The #PolarVortex split, allowing #ozone-rich air into the Arctic, closely matching last week's forecast from the #CopernicusAtmosphere Monitoring Service."
