The UAE: DubaiNow app reaches 1 million users
DubaiNow, the first and only Dubai Government application, has achieved a milestone of one million users. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, has expressed happiness over this milestone.
The app offers access to 130 services from 30 government and
private sector entities to the people. The Crown Prince hailed the integration,
interconnection, and simplicity of digital services of the application. He
reportedly said, “DubaiNow’s milestone of exceeding one million users is a
testament to people’s confidence in the app. He said that the app was the
vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the
Vice-President and the Prime Minister of the UAE (United Arab Emirates) and
Ruler of Dubai.
The Crown Prince of Dubai noted that the UAE President
wanted to make Dubai the world’s best city in terms of access to services and
quality of digital life. He further noted that the DubaiNow app promotes
people's quality of life.
Reportedly, over 20 million transactions worth over Dh10
billion have been completed since the launch of the app. People use the app for
various purposes. It helps to ease traffic congestion. The app also launched
the “Bread for All” campaign to support lower-income groups. The app also helps
to locate nearby ATMs. People can also easily pay their bills through the help
of this app.
The UAE authorities said that one million users reflect the
Dubai Government’s success in the field of digitisation. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori,
Director-General of Dubai Digital Authority, also expressed his happiness over
this milestone. He said that
the collaboration between various government entities helped to achieve the
target. He also praised the UAE government and the Crown Prince of Dubai. The
application completed 4 million transactions worth Dh2 billion this year.
