Why UAE checks all boxes in international regions:

  • Being the youngest country in the world:

Despite its strategic location, the UAE back in 1971 was almost isolated from the rest of the world. With its shoreline stretching hundreds of miles, it had very primitive ports and virtually no roads connecting it to the neighbouring countries. After a few decades, now they have the most modern and busiest airports in the world and seaports. They are this huge that several times the ports have won awards handling the operations from busiest American ports.

The most unique thing about the UAE is that it transformed itself from the most isolated country in the world to one of the most developed countries in the world. Hundreds of events are held every week and Formula One and Business Expo are held once a year. The UAE has become a melting pot of different cultures. Mind you, the majority of the people are not Emiratis.

  • Mars Mission:

This month marks one year since the Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) began in July 2020. The mission was launched from Tanegashima Space Centre in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. Scientists believe that the mission has not only performed nominally across all areas but has exceeded its anticipated performance, encompassing a range of additional activities and freeing up valuable resources to perform additional observations.

Omran Sharaf, Director of EMM says, they have had quite a lot of ‘wiggle room’ in addition to their planned parameters in spacecraft but it has gone from strength to strength. By being able to cut the number of trajectory correction manoeuvres, perform additional observations during flight to Mars has now added a whole area of scientific study to the mission. EMM’s Emirates Mars Ultraviolet Spectrometer (EMUS) instrument was activated during Hope’s cruise to Mars and used to image Mars’ exospheric hydrogen.

  • Leading on humanitarian grounds:

The UAE has built a wide network of strategic relationships and partnerships with key nations from around the world. These relationships have influenced the UAE's national economy, strengthening its presence and position at both regional and international levels. They have achieved their position as being the modern-day miracle. In just several years, the UAE has the highest per capita income and its citizens enjoy free education at all levels, free health care and have to pay no income tax.

  • Growing inspite being targeted in unnecessary politics:

As UAE recognises that the challenges arising throughout the region and the world are partly due to the absence of the culture of coexistence, the spread of extremism and violence. Therefore, the UAE calls, in various regional and international fora, for the need to develop strategies for enhancing constructive dialogue between cultures, respecting beliefs and religions and spreading the culture of peace.

Development Aid is an integral part of the UAE's foreign policy in its relation with other countries. This aid extends to various regions throughout the world and covers all countries in urgent need of support, whether providing support to counter poverty, aid in epidemics or during natural disasters, or facing the scourge of political disputes and armed conflicts.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) acts as a link between the UAE's leadership, and people around the world. The Ministry is working towards strengthening the friendship and cooperation relationships between the UAE and other countries at various levels of political, economic and cultural fields. In addition to supporting the factors of economic and cultural development and renaissance, they are aiming at laying the foundations of peace and brotherhood in the world. These principles infuse UAE nationals with great respect and appreciation wherever they go outside the UAE, and add brighter signs to the image of the UAE in both regional and international arenas.

  • First Arab world to combat COVID-19:

After a landmark agreement between the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, group purchasing organization Rafed, and global innovative biopharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, the country became the first city globally to receive the anti-covid drug, Sotrovimab. It is being used to treat adults and children above the age of 12 who meet certain criteria and are at risk of progressing to severe Covid-19.

  • High on women empowerment:

By determination and skill, many women like Captain Maryam Al Mansoori has rapidly advanced in the UAE Armed Forces and broken new ground by being appointed as the first female Emirati F-16 fighter pilot. These female pilots contribute to the defence service. Over 14,000 businesswomen run 20,000 private companies. These women also hold more than 30 per cent of the jobs in banking and finance. The international community has recognized the UAE’s commitment to advancing women’s rights in the region and across the globe. The UAE leads the Middle East and North Africa in female empowerment and gender equality, ranking highest out of the region
