UAE’s stem cell therapy treats over 2000 people

A stem cell therapy in Abu Dhabi has managed to treat over 2000 COVID-19 contracted patients with 1200 of them being fully recovered.

The Abu Dhabi stem cell center(ADSCC) confirmed it and announced that treatment was administered in the UAE to 73 COVID-19 patients who have all been successfully treated for the virus by inhaling the treatment into their lungs after it has been nebulized into a fine mist. A patent was granted by the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Economy for the development of a promising treatment for COVID-19 infections using stem cells in the month of May

Early on, when the clinical trials were taking place, researchers noted that patients getting stem cell therapy have witnessed reduction in their time in the hospital. It was later announced by the doctors and researchers in ADSCC, led by Dr Yendry Ventura, announced in May they had developed a new treatment for COVID-19 patients. UAECell19, an autologous stem cells based therapy, appears to help the body fight the virus and makes the disease less harmful.

They conducted studies which showed that patients who are treated with stem cell therapy treatment have 3.1% chance of recovery in less than 7 days and 67% of the patients who received the stem cells treatment owed this recovery to the new treatment. Furthermore, to ensure this treatment gets to all, they have secured the Intellectual Property Rights for UAECell19.
