Virus defies EU solidarity

Is China under second wave of coronavirus?

On Thursday  Earlier this week china shared what it considered to be a major victory in its battle against the contagion as between 18 March and 22 March, the Chinese city of Wuhan did not reported any new cases of the virus through domestic transmission. Wuhan, which was once the epicentre of the disease - Covid-19, was the place from where the deadly virus emerged about four months ago. The no new domestic case was a huge achievement for the country, where over 80,000 people got infected by this monstrosity.  But on March 26, the country reported its first locally transmitted infection in three days and adopted stricter preventive measure including closing its international borders to foreigners, even those with residency permits. Over the fear of a second wave, the WHO-Chinese report last month suggested "a clear recognition and readiness of the need to immediately react to any new COVID-19 cases or clusters as key elements of the containment strategy are lifted."

UAE comes forward to aid people irrespective of nationality, race or religion

The United Arab Emirate displayed a true sprit of humanity, as the Gulf nation stepped forward not only to help its own people but also the citizens of other nations during the distressed times of global pandemic. At the beginning of the month, the Emirates’ Health and Community Protection Ministry issued a warning, urging its citizens and foreign residents not to travel abroad and sent 215 foreigners it evacuated from hard-hit Hubei in China to a quarantine set up in its Emirates Humanitarian City. The current situation of wild coming into greet the subway stations and city streets, takes us back to futuristic movie ‘I Am Legend’ starring Will Smith. Merkel pledges EU commitment to Turkey’s refugee pact

European countries are committed to maintaining an agreement with Turkey on refugees and do not exclude the provision of greater financial assistance to Ankara.   This was stated at a press conference in Berlin by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, commenting on the videoconference talks that took place on Tuesday between her, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.   "We also discussed the topic of migration. Today, negotiations were held between the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and the European Union’s diplomacy Josep  Borrell. China accuses US of using Covid-19 to tarnish China's reputation

Some US politicians are using the Corona virus as a weapon to discredit China as a words war escalated between the two countries over how to cope with the outbreak, Beijing said. UAE's admirable initiative in helping friendly countries like Yemen and Sudan save their citizens from coronavirus
